With the opportunity to dine at any time you please and with whom you please, Norwegian Sun is different from the ships of other cruise lines. Have dinner at 9:30 at night or 5:30 in the evening depending on your mood and the activities in which you engage during the day. There are eleven restaurants on this ship, although with the two inclusions in the Ginza Japanese Restaurant, you might say there are thirteen. This is the venue for Asian cuisine where you can sample Japanese, Chinese and Thai foods. It is also the site of the Teppanyaki Restaurant that seats 12 and where you can see the food being cooked as you wait. Here you can also visit the Sushi and Sashami Restaurant if that is your preference.

The Seven Seas and the Four Seasons are the two main dining rooms on the Norwegian Sun and unlike other cruise ships, they do not have the same menus. At the Seven Seas you can dine on contemporary cuisine, while the Four Seasons serves traditional meals. If freestyle cruising is not for you, this is not a problem because you can enjoy assigned seating and set meal times at the Four Seasons restaurant if you wish.

In the line up of alternative restaurants, four of these venues do not have an extra cover charge for the use of the services. At the Pacific Heights Restaurant, located on Deck 11, you don`t need to make reservations. This restaurant has expansive windows from which you can enjoy the sights and the menu consists of selections from the Cooking Light magazine.

The buffet restaurant on the Norwegian Sun is the Garden Cafe. This is the best location on the ship for breakfast with the wide selection of buffet items, but you can also order from a menu and have your breakfast foods made just the way you like them. For the other meals of the day, there are hot and cold foods available and best of all, you can access this dining venue from both sides.

You will find fruit and dessert stations set up throughout the Norwegian Sun in the afternoon and evening and Indian curry has become a regular fixture. You can sit at one of the tables or take a tray onto the deck. The Great Outdoor Cafe is another wonderful place where you can choose to dine inside or out on your fast food favourites.

Las Rambas is another of the restaurants without a surcharge. This is a lounge located in Deck 12 and is a great gathering place in the evenings. Here you will find tapas and other Mediterranean delights where you can have a few appetizers as you listen to the strains of guitar music.

French cuisine is the order of the day at LE Bistro and Cagney`s serves the best steaks and fries. Il Adagio is the spot to be when you want authentic Italian cuisine, including pasta dishes, pizza, and fine wine. The desserts are delicious and you won`t be able to pass them up no matter how full you are.
