review Review by Mary and Jim Kelly

The scenic town of Ketchikan was a day trip on our Alaskan cruise. The scenery of this town is simply astounding. We chose to explore the surrounding area in order to take in as much of the countryside as possible and we were certainly not disappointed. Our taxi driver was an exceptional tour guide and took us to all the important sites that would increase our knowledge of Alaska. The shuttle bus for cruise ships is free and runs all day so that visitors can come and go as they please. This is one of the rainiest places in North America, but there was no rain on the day we visited. The downtown area is very compact and we had no problems walking around the area to engage in shopping and sightseeing.

It was a nice day when we arrived at this port and considering the weather in the area it was great. The houses all looked lovely, we just wondered around this town spent a lot of time just relaxing and not doing much - just the way a holiday should be!!
