Embarkation was wonderful and efficient. The first thing we noticed were the open, clean public areas that are maintained by regular hand sterilisation to keep infection from spreading. We were lucky enough to not witness any infections and everyone we spoke to seemed healthy and energetic.

The storage space in our cabin were not clean when we arrived. The shelves were covered in a (very fine) layer of dust. A cleaning crew arrived at our request to clean the shelves but once they left there was a different type of build-up on the surface of the glass and chrome. Whether a dirty rag was used to clean it we don't know but I succumbed to clean it myself rather than have the crew back.

We found it difficult to hold conversations in the Summer Palace as the sound was very loud. Because of this we found it difficult to concentrate on anything so we chose to eat at the Indigo and the Teppanyaki which were both excellent. The food was fantastic. We have eaten on other Teppanyaki restaurants but the one on board the Pearl was by far the greatest.

We arranged our own tours to avoid paying more for the ship excursions.

Debarkation was a joke. There was no organisation so we waited for one and a half hours to disembark. There were no queues for Gold customers so everyone was off-board at once. After a relaxing cruise we were disgruntled in our last experiences of the ship because of the (lack of) queues.

positives of cruise Positives of Cruise
Once we found the good restaurants the food was excellent.

negative of cruise Negatives of Cruise
NCL need to hire more crew for managing and processing debarkations. We were very dissatisfied with this experience, in spite of the rest of our time being sublime.

Customer service could improve slightly as my wife was changing in the dressing room when a male technician walked straight through, unescorted. Once she complained to crew she was assured it would not happen again. Until the same technician done it again.

I would reccomend this cruise to others.

I think this cruise is suitable for Seniors.
