Just completed a 10 night Holy Land cruise. Our first Royal Caribbean cruise but we were greatly impressed. Our first port of call was Haifa for 1 night after which we were due to move down the coast to Ashdod but due to some unrest we stayed for 3 nights in Haifa but all the trips as planned went ahead, just with a bit of added travelling time. We then cruised to Athens and then Kusadasi. The cruise began & ended in Istanbul.

positives of cruise Positives of Cruise
My husband and I enjoyed the daily quizzes in the Schooner bar. I don't know whether the ship had its maximum number of passengers aboard, some people thought it was full, but you never felt as if it was crowded. If someone was playing the piano or there was live music on around the ship, there was always somewhere to sit. The drinks were probably a little more expensive than other cruises and of course 15% service charge was always automatically added on but as we're not big drinkers that didn't bother us too much. Food selection was excellent at breakfast and lunch in the Windjammer. Most evenings we ate in the Aquarius restaurant and the taste & presentation of the food was excellent. Entertainment included the lovely voice of Jacqui Scott and "Rat Pack Returns" who were both excellent. Didn't think much of the mentalist or the pianist who were also on. Found the Cruise Director Simeon a bit insipid. We had an extra-large inside stateroom which was plenty big enough. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had a curtain but water never wetted the floor.Bathroom was a good size. There were over 70 nationalities of crew indicated on our last night by a parade of flags. Our gratuities were prepaid so we had vouchers to hand out to the staff (Head Waiter,Waiter & Assistant waiter,Stateroom attendant) in the pre-printed envelopes.

negative of cruise Negatives of Cruise
After spending just one day in Athens (Piraeus) we cruised to Kusadasi(Turkey) for one day and then spent the next full day cruising very slowly back to Istanbul. We felt that an extra day in Athens would have enabled us to do more than just a quick excursion to the Acropolis as we could obviously have sailed back to Istanbul from Kusadasi through the night.Overall though, we thought this ship was just great. Big enough to give everyone lots of space but small enough that you saw people around that you'd spoken to.

I would reccomend this cruise to others.

I think this cruise is suitable for Couples.
