Costa Deliziosa image
We have sailed with Costa twice in the past. One of these times was on the Deliziosa and we were so impressed we went back. We are surprised by the low average score for this ship. Embarkation in Amsterdam was relatively quick but it would be a lot faster if we were members of the Costa Club.

The ship is large with a lot of elevators. Our cabin was very spacious and light. Lots of space between the bed and wardrobe. The bathroom was adequately sized too. We spent a lot of time out on the deck and on our balcony, when the weather allowed it.

There were lots of activities on the ship and plenty for young people to do, which is good as there were a lot of young ones.

The first port was Bergen, Norway. It's a beautiful place with weather lovelier than what people say. We have been here before so decided this time to take a trip up the mountainside.

Akureyri, Iceland is a nice place and has a great botanic garden. We took a tour to the volcanic countryside which was excellent value for money. We learned a lot about volcanoes and their importance to the environment. Some of the waterfalls we seen were spectacular and very loud.

In Greenland we visited two harbours and some small villages before going on a whalewatching trip. How those giants move so gracefully through the water I still don't know. We were in stunned awe at their vastness. We went on an expedition to a glacier.

positives of cruise Positives of Cruise
Crew members in the restaurants were spot on with placing us with five other couples who had similar interests. How they achieved this I don't know as they never asked us questions about interests and hobbies.

The destinations were beautiful. We wouldn't have booked a North Atlantic cruise if we didn't like the cold and snow.

Crew members were always amiable and took genuine interest in helping us or providing us with information about where we were headed or things to do on the ship. They all had stunning insight into what we were interested in.

negative of cruise Negatives of Cruise
We weren't too taken with some of the entertainment. The shows were good but we feel they lack something special.

I would reccomend this cruise to others.

I think this cruise is suitable for Seniors.
