Black Watch image As a smaller cruise ship, the Black Watch can travel to different destinations than the larger ships because it is able to enter the smaller ports of call. It also has a more intimate atmosphere in the smaller number of passengers – 421 to be exact, with a crew of 210 giving you individual attention. The cruising style is more relaxed, yet elegant. The ship was built in 1966 and retains the look and feel of a sailing ship but it has all the modern amenities you want to find on a cruise ship. With three lounges, three restaurants, a fitness center and spacious cabins, the Black Watch is truly the cruise ship of choice from the Fred Olsen line. The Black Watch had a full refit in December 2009.

Black Watch Cruise Review starstarstarstarstar by Mr.Peter Fresner on 10/10/2012

The Black Watch is a mini ship that can carry 800 passengers and it is lovelier than the usual cruise with thousands of people on board. With my previous maiden experience in this vessel from Dubai to Southampton few years back, I have decided to renew my relation with her. We were on wheels to Dover to cover the 110 miles by the M20. The porters were handy to us in handling our single piece lu....Read full review

Short But Sweet Cruise On The Black Watch starstarstarstarstar by Anthony D'Angelo on 07/10/2012

We recently set sail on a short 3-day cruise aboard the Fred Olsen Black Watch ship, and were very pleased with what we found during this quick voyage. You have to take into account that this is a small ship, holding only 800 passengers, so the whole experience is much more intimate we found than on the larger vessels.....Read full review

From the celebration package of Cake, Champagne, Portrait photograph and anniversay gift, to the entire crew, it really was a special occasion. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We called at La Caruna, Lisbon, Gibraltar and Vig....Read full review

Fantastic Service starstarstarstarhalf star by A. Brooks on 30/10/2009

I would say the Black Watch needs a bit of a make over and that includes the dull PA system. The food was good, the activities were good, cabins really need some work as they are small and I wanted a double bed not two singles. Its a small ship so it has great potential however theres are things that need to be improved & you can't fault the staff as they are all great.....Read full review
